Brevard County Arrest History
Arrests in Brevard County may begin with the Sheriff's Office, a city police department, the Florida Highway Patrol, FDLE, FWC, or public-safety agencies serving the port, airport, and campuses. Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville, Cocoa, Rockledge, West Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, and Melbourne Beach keep their own agency reports even when the person is booked at the county jail.
One arrest can create four distinct records. The originating agency writes the report and probable-cause material. The Sheriff creates the booking, fingerprint, photograph, bond, and custody record. The Clerk opens a docket if prosecutors file a case. FDLE may connect the fingerprint-supported arrest cycle to a reported court outcome. Each record answers a different question.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is the official county jail and Sheriff information source.

The Sheriff source is central for jail intake and BCSO records, but it does not replace another police department's arrest narrative.
Brevard Inmate Search Fields
The official Brevard inmate search accepts a date range, last name, first name, subject number, or booking number. A booking number identifies one intake. A subject number may connect more than one jail contact. Neither is the same as a Clerk case number or FDLE identifier.

The roster changes fast. Its disclaimer calls the information a courtesy and warns that errors can occur, so confirm urgent custody or bond details by phone.
| Search field | Type | Use |
|---|---|---|
| From Date and To Date | Date | Limits the booking period |
| Last and First Name | Text | Finds possible name matches |
| Subject Number | Text | May connect jail contacts for one subject |
| Booking Number | Text | Targets one intake event |
Looking Up Brevard County Arrests
Use all channels that fit the question. Recent custody begins with the Sheriff. The event narrative stays with the arresting agency. The filed result belongs to the Clerk. A statewide name-based history comes from FDLE, while personal fingerprint review is the better way to resolve identity uncertainty.
- Search the BCSO inmate roster by date, name, subject number, or booking number.
- Confirm fast-changing custody and bond information at 321-690-1500, extension 0.
- Identify the arresting agency and request its incident or arrest report with the case number, date, location, and narrow record description.
- Use BCSO JustFOIA for Sheriff or jail records, then search BECA after prosecutors file the court case.
- Use FDLE for a statewide Florida history or personal fingerprint review, not as a substitute for the local report.
The Sheriff's inmate information page routes readers to current jail contacts and services.

For formal proof of the court outcome, move from that custody channel to a certified Clerk disposition.
Brevard Sheriff Record Requests
Use the BCSO public-records route for a deputy's report or the jail's intake, bond, booking, or release record. Supply the BCSO case number when known, occurrence date and time, location, and a clear description. Broad requests can require more labor, technology, exemption review, and an advance deposit. The Sheriff states that same-day completion is unavailable because responsive material must be researched and reviewed.
The Sheriff public-records page explains the official request route.

A mailed paper-copy request should include a self-addressed stamped envelope. A Palm Bay police narrative still goes to Palm Bay Police, even if the booking later appears in the BCSO roster.

Inside a Brevard County Arrest Record
A public jail profile may show the fields below when they are present in the current official result. It should not be assumed to expose medical, mental-health, protective-custody, cell, full birth-date, or other operational information.
| Booking or Subject Number | Identifies one intake or may link several jail contacts; it is not a court case number. |
|---|---|
| Booking Date and Time | Dates the custody intake, not the alleged offense or final court action. |
| Arresting Agency | Names the body that can supply the event narrative or incident report. |
| Charges | Lists allegations delivered at intake; prosecutors may later change or decline them. |
| Bond and Holds | May show separate amounts, types, status, or holds for different charge rows. |
| Booking Image | Availability follows the live official interface and public-record review; no image is promised. |
| Custody or Release | Reports the jail episode, not guilt or the final case disposition. |
A released status only means the jail custody episode ended. Check BECA for court dates and outcomes because a roster date can change and the Clerk controls the official court calendar.
Brevard County Jail Context
The Brevard County Jail Complex at 860 Camp Road in Cocoa opened in 1986 with 386 beds. BCSO now reports a rated capacity of 1,849 and a daily population routinely above 1,600. The accredited complex includes booking, several housing types, an annex, infirmary, mental-health and medical units, courtrooms, visitation, recreation, and support operations.
The BCSO precinct page helps readers locate the Sheriff command serving the event area.

Precinct geography can help identify a BCSO report, while city police reports remain with the named city department.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
The BCSO roster is best for current and recent county jail custody. It is not a permanent conviction database. Entries and status can change after release, transfer, bond activity, or data correction. Absence from a current roster does not prove that no past Brevard County arrest occurred.
Call jail reception and inmate information at 321-690-1500, extension 0, when the web status changes or bond information needs confirmation. Use Inmate Records or JustFOIA when an official booking record is needed. The BCSO local Records Check costs $2 per last-name inquiry and covers people booked into the Brevard jail. It is not the statewide FDLE history.
BCSO records fees can include 15 cents per single-sided page or 20 cents per double-sided page for a case report of at least ten pages, plus $1 for agency CD or DVD media. Labor after fifteen minutes and extensive research may add cost.
Brevard Sheriff App Access
The free Brevard County Sheriff app advertises alerts, agency news, and quick links, including arrest and searchable inmate access. Features can change, so verify the current behavior within the app. It supplements the official roster and records-request process rather than replacing either one.
Use the official store listings for the Apple version or Android version. For custody notifications after release or transfer, Florida VINE provides a separate notification layer.
The Florida VINE service shows that notification function.

VINE alerts do not establish the charge disposition and do not replace the Brevard Clerk's court file.
Brevard Arrests Reach FDLE
Fingerprints, the tracking-control number, agency identifiers, and booking data can enter Florida's criminal-justice reporting chain after a qualifying custodial arrest. The Clerk and criminal-justice agencies later report dispositions. A missing outcome in a repository response can reflect lag, mismatched identifiers, or a reporting gap.
FDLE's public CCH Internet product is a $24 name search plus the stated $1 card-processing charge. It is not fingerprint-confirmed identity. A person reviewing their own record can use FDLE's free fingerprint-supported personal-review process. If a disposition is wrong or missing, the person may need the arresting agency or a certified Brevard court disposition to support a challenge.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
The arrest entry records an accusation and custody event. The court record shows whether prosecutors filed the charge and how each count ended. The State Attorney's filed information can differ from the initial jail charge. A dismissal, acquittal, or nolle prosequi is not a conviction, even if an older booking entry remains lawfully public.
| Arrest record | Conviction record |
|---|---|
| Created by arresting agency and jail | Created through the court's judgment |
| Shows arrest and booking allegations | Shows a finding or plea and final disposition |
| Lives with agency and Sheriff custody systems | Lives in the Clerk file and reported repository outcome |
| May end in release or no filed charge | May lead to sentence, appeal, sealing, or other relief |
Note: A Brevard County arrest is not proof of guilt, and the initial booking charge may never produce a conviction.
Brevard Jail Versus FDC
The county roster covers current or recent pretrial and local jail custody at Camp Road. The Florida Department of Corrections Offender Information Search covers state prison and state supervision records after sentencing. A person can therefore appear in one system and not the other for sound reasons.
The BCSO jail channel is the first stop for a new Brevard booking. Use FDC for prison, felony probation, community control, parole, or another state supervision category. Neither replaces Brevard County criminal court cases when the question is the filed charge or certified outcome.
